Back pain? Fix it with simple solutions

I was experiencing a lot of back pain when I was doing exercises at the gym that were overhead, such as presses; front squats; pulls from the ground, such as dead lifts, and good mornings; and sometimes, but rarely, back squats. I was in fairly good shape, ate well, never had any injuries, and just couldn’t figure it out. I always also felt like I had a pretty good workout plan, it was well balanced, and targeted all my major muscle groups. I visited the doc and there was nothing to be seen on my Xrays. He recommended that I just take it easy, but I wasn’t ready to sacrifice my program and start taking it ‘easy’ at the gym. So I visited my physio and discovered how simple the problem was.

Though I was doing a well balanced workout, certain muscles adapt differently to the same stimulus. For example, a bicep will quickly adapt to the work you are making it do during a given time. The abs on the other hand, are in constant use in everything we do; talking, sitting, standing, walking, etc, are all times when the abs are contracting in some form. It turned out that my abs were not being developed at the rate that my other muscles were because the abs routine was too simple for such a dynamic muscle. This was putting a considerable amount of strain on my back as I was lifting more and more and my abs had never been worked the right way. Abs need to be challenged in a whole new way to actually grow and be defined. So I went online and picked up this dvd program called revabs.

Its a program that has been working for me, though I suppose any good quality abs routine would be good. Revabs is a series of 9 discs, so I am constantly able to change what I am demanding of my abdominal muscles, and it s this constant challenge that forces them to adapt to higher and higher levels of performance. My lower back pain was cured in about a few weeks after beginning the program, and I had been dealing with the pain for 2 years. What a relief to know it was something I could fix so easily… oh and my abs are actually looking like they never had before.
