Why Is Yoga Important To P90X

The P90X home fitness training system is an intensive system of workouts that claim you can “get ripped” within 90 days by using this system, and with a 90 day money back guarantee there seems to be little harm and all benefit to trying it.

This training system is hosted by Tony Horton, and the workout itself is broken down into 12 different units, one of which is a Yoga workout. The host of the show is very careful to point out the benefits of yoga, and how it is integral to the very core concept of this train-at-home system, which is called Muscle Confusion.

Muscle confusion is the process by which the muscles of the body are worked through a variety of movements and exercises which each take time to master. In this way, the muscle’s process of recovery and growth is accelerated in order to keep up with the new demands. The P90X system hopes to avoid the dreaded “plateau” by keeping the workouts fresh and different each day.

The yoga portion of this system is performed on day 4 of the workout program, and as such is an integral part of the P90X training schedule. Tony Horton explains how yoga combines flexibility, coordination, balance, strength and breath control to not only enhance your physique but to also strengthen the body. The P90X yoga workout proves that there is power and difficulty in each of the moves designed with six benefits in mind: muscular endurance, mind-muscle connection, active recovery, flexibility, agility and mental focus.

Working out a home is both a convenient and economical way to get into shape. Gone are the days of couch potatoes dancing to the oldies: high intensity workouts are available for men using the science of the body as the only equipment needed.

The Power 90 workout is hosted by Tony Horton and this program is recommended for those men who are just starting out on the fitness journey. This program comes with a sculpting band and a series of six workouts that are geared toward targeting specific body areas for maximum toning and fat burning results in 30 minute workouts. The workouts include: cardio, abs and sculpting workouts. Following the program results in weight loss and overall fitness, and can easily be done in a living room.

There may be some confusion on if there is a difference in two of Tony Horton’s workout programs. Although P90X and Power 90 sound a lot alike and do have some of the same basic principles, the two workouts are quite different.

The P90X workout program was developed after Power 90 and is based off the core of the program. But what Tony Horton did with P90X was he further developed the program for people who are looking for more of a challenge after completing Power 90. P90X has more intensity and can actually be used for the rest of your life due to the muscle confusion technique that Tony Horton employs in the program.

One of the significant differences in these workouts is that P90X can be used over and over again as it uses muscle confusion to help you constantly evolve and reshape you body. With the exercises you can take it slower at first and as you gain more strength and power you can then add the more advanced techniques that Tony teaches in the DVDs. This makes it possible for you to continue on with the workouts well past 90 days, as you are always keeping your body confused, which means that you can avoid plateaus and constantly engage your body.

There are a lot of supplemental shakes out there, promising immediate results for their brilliant product. The honest truth is that supplements are just that. They can only go so far as supplementing whatever it is that you are doing to get fit. Supplements cannot make you lost weight, or make your muscles bigger or stronger. However, with the right supplement, the results from your morning workout routine will be optimized.

Look for supplements that offer multiple ingredients; having just your protein boosted will only go so far. Though you may be looking to grow muscles, your body works as a machine, and all the parts need to be in good functioning order to get faster, stronger, etc. Try something like Shakeology. This product offers not only a protein supplement, but also prebiotics, fiber, digestive enzyme, essential vitamins and nutrients, and antioxidants. This is going to give your workouts an edge. Once you combine a tough workout with this diverse supplement, your results will start to change.

There is a lot of discussion in the health and fitness community surrounding the benefit of supplements. People want to know if they need them and how a powder can really make them more fit. For a fitness or meal supplement to be beneficial, it has to be supplementing something that already has its own benefits. For example, it is unrealistic to hope to sit at your computer all day and not getting up and active and expecting a meal or fitness shake to get you fit. It simply does not work this way. The body reacts to what you supply it with. If you want to get fit, you have to get up and move, and get your heart rate up.

What a supplement can do is optimize the changes your body will make. This means that if you do decide to get active and make a positive life change, the right supplement can go a long way in aiding this change. Use shakeology as an example; this is a meal replacement that gives your body what it will need to maintain the energy level of an active individual; including protein, minerals, vitamins, and prebiotics for the digestive system. The positive effects of the right supplement are evident when compared to the hundreds of thers out there. Always make sure that you read the label carefully so you know what you are getting before you purchase it.

Recently surfing the net I have realized that there may be a lot of confusion over workout video’s. They all promise something big… they have hot sweaty bodies on the websites, clips of the workouts with sexy people jumping around, some with smiles, some deep in concentration. The one thing missing from all the ads saying what a great deal they are is a warning for what level of fitness they are appropriate for. If you are a first timer, meaning that you don’t really do much activity, its probably not the best idea to jump into the ‘super-hardcore-extreme-get-big-and-ripped-now’ type of video workout. Start with a yoga, or a dance based workout. Also, make sure that you can enjoy the video. For example, if you enjoy going out and dancing, then maybe a hip hop style cardio workout would be best for you.

Don’t forget to try and find out some actual reviews on the program, especially if it is going to be a big investment for you. These workout programs can vary in cost from $50 to $300 USD; you don’t want to spend this much money on something you haven’t fully researched. Try looking up some forums on the internet where people who have already bought the program have left a review on it.

Also, before buying a workout video program you are sold on, go talk to your doctor about it and see if there are any risks involved; after all, everyone has a unique body which will respond differently to the same stimuli.

There are a few things to keep in mind when you are preparing yourself for a brand new at-home workout plan. Motivation is a huge part of getting everything started. Just purchasing your fitness video of choice is a good start, but we all know it doesn’t guarantee you will actually pop it in and get moving. Sometimes, we need a little something to get over that invisible wall which stops us from getting to it right away.

One of those things is going out and buying yourself a new outfit. I know, shopping seems counterproductive to working out, but the truth is that with a new outfit, chances are you will want to wear it. Its like a little bonus incentive to get yourself going. Also, check to see if you need any accessories to maximize the results with the fitness videos. Some accessories might include a yoga mat, or any kind of floor mat which can be used for ground work, small dumbbells, an exercise ball, a skipping rope, resistance bands, etc. Of course, you may not need any of these, but it is all dependent on the fitness video style and what the intended outcome is for them. It could be full body one, or focus on abs, thighs, arms, etc, and each can require a different set of accessories. Just check the instructions and get yourself a little workstation all set up. You will be amazed at your inclination to get started on your new and exciting fitness video.

How the body burns fat

Fat is used during long-term, low to medium intensity workouts because of how slowly it converts into energy. The longer you workout, the more likely you are to force your body to use fat for energy, especially once the readily available glucose runs out. No matter what you are doing, your body is always burning calories; the amount just varies according to the intensity and duration of your movements. So, lets say you take up the power90 program. It gets the individual moving, and for a minimum of 30 minutes, and up to around 45. The goal is essentially to do an activity that is diverse enough to keep you moving the entire time and a combination of simple cardio and muscle strengthening movements. Muscles use up a lot more calories, so toning and other such movements for major muscle groups are imperative.

Lets not forget the health factors that are associated with this. Across North America, health standards recommend a minimum of 30 minutes of low to medium intensity activity 5 days a week. This can include things like gardening, a quick walking pace, etc. This is simply to maintain your body functions and reduce health risks associated with heart disease. If you are serious about getting active in order to change your body shape, tone muscle and lose fat mass, it will take more than the minimum. Get yourself into a regular, daily rhythm of working out at a moderate intensity, as with the power 90 program that I describe above. It is a cycle of training that lasts 90 days and uses a variety of techniques so that the body is always being challenged and incorporates a great amount of cardio with muscle strengthening exercises. This way, you’ll get the results you want on the exterior of your body and the interior health that we all want to live better.
